Setting feed-in parameters in Power control settings

Updated over a week ago

keywords: inverter initialization parameter setting, feed in parameter, grid limitation, set feed in limit.

In certain countries, some power grids don't permit sending self-generated energy back to the grid, while others have rules limiting the amount of surplus energy that can be fed into the grid. To navigate these regulations, it's crucial to configure the right feed-in parameters on your inverter.

Setting feed-in parameters in iSolarCloud website:

  1. After logging with your account, as is shown in Fig.1, select on the left bar "Settings", and then inside this tab, select the plant and click on "Advanced Settings". Note that the Initial Grid should have been Already set.

2. Inside Advanced settings

If there's a need for on-site feed-in limitation, as is shown in Fig.2, the advanced setting interface allows configuration of the following parameters, as illustrated in the figure below.

Common sets:

1. How to set SHT with no feed into the grid:

  • 11-Installed PV Power must be set appropriately to the PV power.

  • 12-Dynamic feed-in limitation is activated

    • 12.1- Maximum feed-in power set to 0.

    • 12.2- Maximum feed-in percentage set to 0.

2. How to set a feed-in limit:

  • 11 -Installed PV power must be set appropriately to the PV power.

  • 12 -Dynamic feed-in limitation is activated.

    • 12.1- Set maximum feed-in power to the relevant value that is to be fed in at maximum.

    • 12.2- Set maximum feed-in percentage to the corresponding percentage of the inverter nominal power that is to be fed in at maximum.

3. How to set a feed-in limit for inverter expansion: If an additional inverter is connected to the battery system, the power limitation is set as follows:

  • 13- Set "rated power of additional power generation systems" to a value corresponding to the rated power of the additional inverter.

  • 11- Installed PV power must be set according to the PV power of the hybrid inverter.

  • 12- Dynamic feed-in limitation is activated.

    • 12.1- Set maximum feed-in power to the relevant value that is to be fed in at maximum.

    • 12.2- Set maximum feed-in percentage to the corresponding percentage of the inverter nominal power that is to be fed in at maximum.

To finalize and confirm these adjustments, remember to apply the settings.

For further information, please download the user manual accordingly:

This manual is intended for professional technicians who are responsible for installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of inverters, and users who need to check inverter parameters. The inverter must only be installed by professional technicians.

The professional technician is required to meet the following requirements:

  • Know electronic, electrical wiring and mechanical expertise, and be familiar with electrical and mechanical schematics.

  • Have received professional training related to the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of electrical equipment.

  • Be able to quickly respond to hazards or emergencies that occur during installation, commissioning and troubleshooting.

  • Be familiar with local standards and relevant safety regulations of electrical systems.

  • Read this manual thoroughly and understand the safety instructions related to operations.
