Fault code 088: Electric Arc Fault

These faults apply to the following sungrow products:

  • SG30CX / SG33CX / SG40CX / SG50CX / SG110CX

  • SG2.0RS-S / SG2.5RS-S / SG3.0RS-S / SG3.0RS /SG3.6RS / SG4.0RS / SG5.0RS / SG6.0RS

  • SH3.0RS/SH3.6RS/SH4.0RS/SH5.0RS/SH6.0RS

  • SG3.0RT / SG4.0RT / SG5.0RT / SG6.0RT / SG7.0RT /SG8.0RT / SG10RT / SG12RT / SG15RT / SG17RT /SG20RT

In the event of Fault Code 88 being informed through the App, the following corrective measures shall be taken:

The arc detection module detects an arc on the DC side of the inverter.

Troubleshooting steps and methods

1. Check whether the external and internal DC cables of the inverter are reliably connected.

2. Keep only one DC switch disconnected and the other switches closed to locate the abnormal string.

3. Check whether the connection between the detection board of the abnormal string and the control board is reliable.

4. Check whether DC terminals are carbonized.

5. If no abnormality is found, replace the control board.

6. If the fault is not cleared after the control board is replaced, replace the DC input terminals and string detection board.
