Fault Codes 832, 833, 835, 836, 837: Battery Fault/Abnormal
Updated over a week ago

These faults apply to the following sungrow products:

  • SBR096/128/160/192/224/256

  • SBH100/150/200/250/300/350/400

  • SH3.0RS/SH3.6RS/SH4.0RS/SH5.0RS/SH6.0RS

  • SH5.0RT/SH6.0RT/SH8.0RT/SH10RT

  • SH5T/6T/8T/10T/12T/15T/20T/25T

In the event of Fault Codes 832, 833, 835, 836, 837 being informed through the App, the following corrective measures shall be taken:

Code 832 (FET fault/Battery switch fault)

Fault name

FET fault/Battery switch fault (fault code: 832)

Fault type

Fault

Fault condition

The fault is caused by battery abnormity, operating environment or inappropriate operation performed on the battery.

Steps and methods of troubleshooting

1. In case of abnormal battery voltage, check whether the battery power cable connection is abnormal (reverse connection, loose, etc.). If so, connect the battery power cable correctly.

2. Check whether the battery real-time voltage is abnormal if the battery power cable is correctly connected. If so, contact the battery manufacturer. If not, contact SUNGROW.

3. In case of battery temperature fault, take measures to improve heat dissipation performance and lower the temperature.

4. If the fault persists, please contact Sungrow Service.

Code 833 (Battery internal hardware fault)

Fault name

Battery internal hardware fault (fault code: 833)

Fault type

Fault

Fault condition

The alarm is triggered when master pre-charging fails, and the battery voltage value on inverter side is less than 90% of the total battery voltage.

Steps and methods of troubleshooting

1. Confirm whether the DC-wiring is connected accurately and tightly.

2. Export the battery log, and check whether the output voltage of the switch box is greater than 90% of the total battery voltage or measure the battery voltage on inverter side.

3. Remove the power line of the battery system and close the miniature circuit breaker and then start the master and detect the output voltage of the switch box. If it is abnormal, please replace the switch box.

Code 835 (Battery short-circuit fault)

Fault name

Battery short-circuit fault (fault code: 835)

Fault type

Code 836 (Internal communication failure)

Fault name

Internal communication failure (fault code: 836)

Fault type

Code 837 (Input overvoltage fault)

Fault name

Input overvoltage fault (fault code: 837)

Fault type

For further information, please download the user manual here.
