In the event of Fault Code 106 being informed through the App, the following corrective measures shall be taken:

Code 106 (Grounding Cable Fault):

Fault name

Excessively High Ambient Temperature (Code 106)

Fault type

Failure shutdown

Fault condition

1. Weak contact of the grounding cable

2. Grounding cable connection is abnormal

Steps and method of troubleshooting

1. Check whether the AC cable is correctly connected.

2. Check whether the insulation between the ground cable and the live wire is normal.

3. If the fault is not caused by the foregoing reasons and still exists, please contact Sungrow Service.

*only for hybrids:

In addition to the Error Code 106 mentioned in the troubleshooting, it should be noted that the ground wires in the PV & storage system (including batteries) should be connected to the same PE-Bar respectively (Fig.1.). If the requirements are not met, the Error Code 106 will be reported.

Fig.1.

In the case of the hybrid inverters, the Backup port PE should be connected to the PE Bar even if the backup function is not used.

If possible measure the voltage between PE and N,

  1. If V > 45 V, please check the installation for grounding, as this might be the cause for this fault to show up from inverter side.

  2. Otherwise, inform sungrow service about this measurement.
